How do you adjust brake pedal switch? 87 Caprice

Since I've recently replaced my master cylinder my brake lights (rear) stay on. How do I adjust the pedal switch so they only come on when the pedal's pushed like they're supposed to?

I've never had to adjust the pedal switch after the boosters replacement ...but anyway remove the wires and rotate the switch so that you can see it works by moving the pedal and listen to hear the switches click then connect the connector back up...push down about an 3/8-1/2 inch tail lamps should come on ...with your description about 2 turns will be close...

Re: How do you adjust brake pedal switch? 87 Caprice

I don't know why I'm needing to adjust the switch (aside from the obvious fact of my brake lights staying on). When I originally restored the engine compartment on this car I had the booster and everything off and reinstalled it all and only had to bleed the front brakes. Master cylinder eventually started leaking (where it installs onto the booster) so I got a new one and bench bled it and installed. Bled all four brakes in proper order a few different times. Brakes haven't been the same since. Rears stay on and the pedal's mushy.

what may be occuring is the master cylinder is sticking and therefore not returning to its proper position with the pedal free...check all this out...

could be something unrelated causing this pedal issue ..
