2001 Airbag code 16
About a year ago the airbag light came on, flashing 1+6 which I've learned here means code 16. It hasn't come on again until last month, but now it comes up all the time. It won't come on during my first morning drive, but will come on every time thereafter. Any thing I should look at before I bring it to my mechanic?
Thank you! |

Re: 2001 Airbag code 16
Just an update, in case anyone has ANY info on this code.
The airbag light flashes code 16 all the time now, even on first drive in the morning. In other news, my abs dash light bulb burned out -- is it a big deal to replace? Thank you! P.S. If anyone's keeping track -- I replaced two coil packs, at 80K and 130K. |

Re: 2001 Airbag code 16
I have zero experience with airbag codes......so I cannot offer any advice.
I looked up the airbag Lamp Flash Codes (LFC) and they do not list a code 16 for my '96 windstar (my alldata subscription only lets me see the 1996 windstar information). I have not replaced the ABS lamp.....and I expect that your 2001 will be slightly different from my '96 anyhow.

occupant classification sensor take it to a mechanic you will set off the air bag if you test this improperly or if you accidently spike the sensor
