BMW 320I Turbo

I was wondering if anyone had a picture of the wiring (sparplugs) for the 320i that David Hobbs drove in the IMSA series. Have not been able to locate anything. Thanks for your help.

Re: BMW 320I Turbo

It will likely be difficult to come up with pics of that specific car. But until BMW introduced solid state ignition (early 90's models), BMW's ignition wiring tended to all look very much the same.

(Not out of the right car, obviously)

The plug wires go from the distributor at the end of one of the camshafts into a tube running along the top (or side) of the valve cover. One wire exits the tube for each cylinder's plug.

Thanks much. That is how I thought it went. Been holding off on the engine. I should have asked earlier. You guys are great.

Re: BMW 320I Turbo

Accidental Refererence! I'm trying to make a generic F2..or something vintage racer using the BT50 BMW engine minus the turbo. So I've been looking with google for pics of the motor. Only a few fair shots.
I see this thread and it's nothing but engine shots
Thank You all!!
