hmm caught me as kinda odd
i cant verify a the moment i belive its a 96 civic ex d16y8 she has a eibach lowering kit on it aftermarket exaust and i think thats about it
my sister is moving from cali to NC swinging by my moms in ohio to visit a bit on the way . She states that about 500 miles out of iowa she develops a shimmy, i asked her to describe this , what do you have to do to duplicate it only real answer she gave me was under acceleration it shimmys when you let off its fine again . she has the keys and is asleep now so i cant really bug her for em she arived at liek 4 am its 9:32 now she mentioned she had a gut feeling she lost a weight so had the tires balanced on the way .. didnt fix it im guessing its a motor mount? maybe wheel bearing she has an aftermarket exaust so i see it being possible she didnt hear the bearing humming never really heard any hondas having a problem like this, i will give it a front end shake down hoping itll be a tie rod or wheel bearing maybe sway bar links or something . before she left my bro put a new axle shaft on it becasue a tire chain slipped off and ripped her cv boot to hell and back when she went up to snow to visit any other ideas what could give a honda a shimmy on freeway speeds? she was super worried soemthing would break on her and she would be stranded well thank you or your time didnt mean to blather on so much but im trying to be as descriptive as possible onthe whole situation to get you guys a beter guess at it ~Shawn |
