What to do....

I currently own a 1984 528e. I have a delema as to whether to keep it or sell it. I need to know if someone has successfully restored a 528e to be a dependable commuter car.

The car smokes a the tailpipe. It appears to be and oil leak. This is my biggest concern.

Is this a common problem for old BMWs?
Does anyone know a good mechanic in the Northern Virginia area?

Thanks in advance for you attention.

Re: What to do....

Your smoke is from a dried and brittle gasket leaking oil into your exhaust and burning it. Not a big issue. To restore or not to restore is up to how much money you have to spend on it. If you love it, restore it. If not sell it.
