Display lights burnt out in dash
My 04 silverado has a few problems with the display lights. The volt meter gauge seems to be kinda dim compared to the rest, also the dual heater control is not lit up on the right slider. Can you replace any bulbs on these trucks? Thanks

Re: Display lights burnt out in dash
They should be replaceable. Over time some of the bulbs will get dim because the filament inside actually vaporizes from the heat but then redeposits on the slightly cooler bulb glass, darkening it.
You'll have to remove the trim panels around the gauge cluster and A/C controls to get at the mounting bolts to pull those out of the dash. The bulbs usualy are inserted from the back side. Check your owner's manul to see if it lists the bulb size to buy or look online for a reference website. Personally, I'd switch to LED bulbs to eliminate having to replace them again, plus you can change the colors up to suit your taste. The best bet is to look and see what size you need then cross-check them at the store to be sure you get the right kind. Good luck!
