Warning lights-ABS-Traction Control

I just finished replacing rear air shocks, ball joints and emergency brake cables on a '95 Buick Park Ave. I disconnected the battery while doing this. I also had to take the complete wheel assembly off to get the shocks off and had to take a wire off the ABS sensors.
All is back together and battery is connected. Now the ABS light won't go off. Also the traction control warning light won't go off.
There were no problems with these lights before I did this work.
Any suggestions for what to do?

If you clear the DTC's with a scanner, do they come back? I don't understand why you had to take the hub assembly off to change the struts, normally that is not necessary.

I don't have a scanner. I had to take the hub assembly off because I couldn't get the bolts out any other way.

You can disconnect the negative battery cable & drain any residual power by turning on the lights or ignition switch. Once all power is drained, reconnect the cable. The DTC's should be clear. If they come back, you still have a problem. BTW, did you have any problem removing, or reconnecting the ABS wiring terminal?

I had to put this on hold for a few days because my buddy needed to get his truck in my garage to work on it. We have snow everywhere.
As soon as I can get this car back in the garage I'm going to check the ABS conections, the brake fluid and brake lines for air and do the battery cable like you said.
I'll let you know how I make out and I really appreciate your input.

on my 97 PA, i had the same type of problem. in my case, the wire, which was right by the rear axle, had become worn due to weather, rain, snow, salt,and such. i spliced the wire for a short time for a quick fix. it took care of the warning lights. then the splice became worn as well, and i replaced the entire wire from the dealer. problem was completely solved. be sure to check that the wire has not been worn down before you tear the car apart anymore.

Here is some advise I received when I asked the same question last year (I parked the car until now- so I too am interested in the solution.)

"My 97 had an issue with the ground wires on the fwd side of the block. It's located close to the back end of the A/C compressor. Once I fixed it both lights went out. Might be worth a look, I know one is a ground for the A/C clutch but not sure where the others go. Good luck."
