Unhappy Please help save my Z

I have an 89 Z24 and she's very sick. It started running crappy about a month ago and I changed the fuel filter..it was very dirty. That seemed to fix the problem. About a week ago it started idleing up and down. The check engine light never comes on but we took it to the garage three days ago to have them diagnose the problem. They said that nothing came up on the computer. They suggested that it may need to relearn the idle. They did that and took it for a ride and it wasn't any better. They checked the firing and said it was sparatic. They suggested that we change the ignition module. So we drove it home and changed that. Now the darn thing won't even run enough to move it 2 inches. Could it be the ECM? I really want to save my car and my boyfriend wants to burn it. I know it could be a million things but is it possible that the dirty fuel crudded the injectors? O...when it starts it acts like it is starving for gas. If it dosn't start right back up after stalling the only way I can start it is to pump the gas a couple of times first. I know your not suppose to but it's the only thing that helps. Can anyone please suggest how to make my Z better?

Check the ECM and see if it is a 1227730, if it is try starting it and lightly tapping the side. I bet you the car stalls, these ECM's where a big problem and have been redesigned for this problem. While your at it you may want to see if yu have the latest prom also.

Well guess what. We checked the computer code ourselves and it came up as a 33. The book says it is a MAP sensor or a MAF sensor. We wanted to check the MAF sensor first but where is it?

It is located in the air inlet tube to the inatke. Looks like a 6 inch black hard plastic tube with an electrical connector. This is a generic pic..
