What is this twisted Grey/white and Purple/white behind my stereo?

Hey, I just got my 1988 Mr2 and the wiring behind the stereo is a little butchered. Does anyone know what a pair of twisted grey/white (two seperate wires) and a purple/white (two seperate wires) are for?
