Use Threadlock or Not???

How about some opinions on using threadlock on the rocker arm pedestal bolts for the 3.4 aluminum head....some of the repair references say to use it others do not mention it...and is the proper torque 124 in.lbs.(10.3ft.lbs) +30 degrees or 14 ft. lbs.+30

Re: Use Threadlock or Not???

I've used LocTite 242 on these bolts UNLESS the bolt bosses have already been stripped out. If you've installed thread inserts to repair a stripped boss, avoid using the thread lock.
