94 silverado pop sound from tbi

hi i have a 94 silverado with 168,476 miles with a 5.7 350. the other day i went out with the truck, i was driving about 25 minutes, i went on the on ramp of the highway and hit the gas pedal hard to beat the on coming cars, and a poping sound came up from the tbi. i dont know what the cause was. i already brang it to the mechanic to check the timing, and he said it`s good, did he really check, i don`t know. a tune was done about 4 months ago and installed new egr valve and egr solenoid , plugs, wires, cap, rotor, fuel filter, and put on a k and n short intake filter, so i don`t think it needs a tune up. this is like the third time this happened, on different ocassion`s. if anybody can help me out that would be great. thanks everybody

Make sure all cam lobes are opening valves good.

could be bad fuel . what gas brand ? this can be the distributor bearing .

hi, yes i use stop and shop gas 89 octane and every other fill up i put a bottle of fuel injector cleaner in. and the truck seems to have no power, it has a hard time power braking it. it should be easy to spin the tires correct? to me the truck seems weak. i had a 88 silverado with a 350 about 4 years ago, and that 88 would kick the shit out of this truck. i had 32 inch super swampers and it would spin no problem, but this truck the 94 i dont understand the power problem. thanks

try some shell or mobil . see if these issues reduce.what injector cleaner do you use ? every other tank full is alot.
