Need help with custom decal

I am looking for some help with some simple decals. I have never attempted to make decals, so I have no idea how to go about this. I would like to put Imperial emblems on my next project measuring 6-10 inches in scale. I know its a simple design, but I would rather not go thru the whole making a stencil and paint ordeal if I can avoid it. In case you don't know, it looks like this.......

Thanks BTW

Re: Need help with custom decal

Should be a fairly easy to do decal. Depends on the colour of the background onto which you will place it. What colour is the model surface..?? If it's going onto white, no problem print it onto clear decal paper and it will be perfect. If it's going onto a colour background you may need to print it onto white decal paper and trim it out or print more than one decal onto clear and apply 2 or more of them to get the density. Also depends what printer you are using..?? Laser doesn't need sealing as the inks/powders don't run when soaked in water. Inkjet decals need a sealer to stop the inks running when you soak them in water.... Use a simple graphics program to resize the decal and print onto plain paper to test the size before you commit to the decal paper.

Re: Need help with custom decal

I am building a Stormtrooper GTR So most likely they will go over white. I might try to print some in red or white. I have printer so no problem there. Now what is a simple graphics program? Will the testors decal sheet work, or should I try something else?

Simple graphics program, Microsoft Paint. If you are using Windows it comes free with it. I always use decal paper from Here They do white or clear in A4 sheets.
If you need to change the colours or anything, it would be easier with a more advanced graphics program. I can do that for you if you need..??
