Quick Question

Would a clogged fuel filter cause my car to not to be able to stay running and when i try and give it gas it bogs/chokes out?? It can only stay idling for a minute usually then it just dies.

Re: Quick Question

typically no.... would idle ok and sputter when higher fuel demand needed ie. hard accelleration. ultimatly, depends on the amount of restriction.

Measure fuel pressure at the rail. If its low; could be fuel pump, filter or line restriction. deadhead the pump momentarily to rule out pump. remove and blow through filter to check filter. If filter has more than 50 000km it needs to be changed anyway.
