Need help!!

Ok so I have been having a problem with my thermostat, so I thought I would try and replace it myself, big mistake I found out. So her is what I did, in order of what I did.

1) Opened radiator cap
2) Disconnected the battery completely
3) Drained the radiator about half-way
4) Disconnected the top radiator hose (realized this was a mistake AFTER I took it off.

5) Re-connected the top hose
6) Removed the air box, and line to my intake so that I could get to the thermostat housing, I also had to disconnect the three hoses going into the intake tubing.

7) Realized that I couldn't get to the housing and then reconnected everything, reconnecting the battery last. Fired it up, left for work, got 10 seconds down my street and the RPM needle went bat shit bouncing like crazy, the check engine light was flashing on and off, my Parking light and S3 (Which is my 3rd gear light) was flashing crazily, mad clicking sounds, it sounded like it was coming from under my shifter (it's an automatic) and then it just died. Refused to start for 5 minutes, let it sit 10 minutes and then it started fine. It runs fine if I keep it under 3k rpm, if over that it the rpm needle starts to bounce and the lights start flashing again and it starts hesitating and suddenly lurching forward like loss of power, but it wont cut out now, it keeps running.

Brand new distributor cap, new pcv valve, new spark plugs, fuel filter, and air filter.

Any ideas?

Re: Need help!!

have seem some older nissans idle irractically if air in cooling system/low coolant; which is the only thing (other than missed connector not plugged in) I think you could have introduced.

thermocycle the car or better yet vacuum fill the cooling system to remove all the air.

post the dtc that's set to see if we are on the right track.

Car is up and running fine now, it turns out it was the temp sensor, or rather the bolt that it is grounded to, it was loose, I tightened it down and the car fired up fine and ran great without any of the previous symptoms. I feel something like a tard
