1995 jimmy vacuum t broke
There is a T like vacuum connector under the hood on the drivers side right by the ball that has a vacuum line attached to it. This T is made of 2 parts and must have been brittle I guess and broke. What is it called and is it necessary to have? Can I just install a simple plastic plumbers T and make it work?

Re: 1995 jimmy vacuum t broke
Most parts stores sell plastic vacuum tees. Get some replacement vacuum hose at this time.

Re: 1995 jimmy vacuum t broke
Yes you can, I broke mine too and got one at a hardware store. The vaccum is for your heater vents and actuators etc. and or if you have a 4x4...

Re: 1995 jimmy vacuum t broke
There is a check valve built into the Tee. Without it, when you accelerate, any item controlled by the vaccum will not operate properly. For example: If you have the HVAC set on heat, when you accelerate, the air flow will change to defrost. If you are in 4WD, it will return to 2WD. Most auto parts stores have them in stock. Make sure the Tee has a check valve.
