Newbie Here

Hey guys, I came across this forum a few days ago. I love to do models but I've never really "done" a model correctly. I've always used brushes to paint the bodies and never really taken the time to make my models look really really good

Here are a few pics of the models I've done. I've done mostly bikes up to this point, but I wanna do some kickass cars...I've read thru the painting tips thread. I went out and got some spray cans of paint, but they didn't have a few of the colors I wanted, can anyone recommend a good place online to order paints from? I specifically wanted gun metal in a spray can and my local hobby shop didn't have it. Anyways, as you can see from my pics, they aren't the best looking models in the world

I'm really into bikes, I actually have a 2001 honda f4i crotchrocket

The crappy job I did on this subaru

This is the model I bought yesterday to do. I'm gonna paint it gun metal grey instead of the blue.

Anyways, this board is gonna be a big help so thanks alot guys!

Welcome to the group. You will find plenty of help here! I like the bikes-wish I could do them. As for the paint your local shop could order it for you if you ask. Also Testors makes a good gun metal metallizer paint that would look good. You might be able to find that easier than say a Tamiya brand. But if you have to look onlie here is a good site-Hobby Search They will ship to the states and beyond!

Welcome to AF noob
J/k
Those are bikes with good brushing skills. If you got the dough, go buy a spraygun. It'll suit you well.

wow..thanks for all the compliments on the bikes guys..I didn't know they would be so well received on a car site, but its all models right i love doing the bikes..they are a bit more expensive than the cars, they usually run 35-45$ but are a hell of alot more detailed

here's the other one i did

I hope I can redem myself with the car I do

what do you guys recommend using to paint the smaller details of the cars? such as the insides and the shocks etc? stuff like that. Walmart has a testors spray gun for around 25$ i was thinking of picking up..

oh ya..here's the real thing too it doesn't get much better than this

one more thing..do you have any tips of keeping dust off your models? do you guys keep them in cases or do i just have a really dusty house?
