Clutch help?
Shooting for 400-450hp, probably slightly less in torque. Any suggestions on brands? I was thinking about just getting a clutch kit from ACT but If I can drop 400-550 on a kit which is better overall then Id rather do that.
http://www2.advancedclutch.com/produ...d_id=6164#6164 Is where I am looking, suggestions?

Re: Clutch help?
ACT makes some really good clutches. Those have always had a good rep. And I know they make some good setups perfect for that amount of power. Check with the DSM-specific vendors... they usually have some good sales on clutches and full kits.
I personally use a Fidanza and I like it a lot, but I've never had a car with an ACT so really can't compare.

Re: Clutch help?
The only thing I dont like about ACT is that they run an organic disk in most of their kits. So they rely on a heavy pressure plate to hold more power. If I were you I would get an ACT 2100lbs plate and match it with a kevlar disk from another company. Would be an awesome setup and the kevlar disk would outlast that organic disk.

Re: Clutch help?
My buddy is over the 400 whp mark and uses an ACT 2600. I want in between 300 and 350 awhp so I chose an ACT 2100, and have so far been happy with it. I really cant tell much of a difference between that and my stock clutch. Also that is an interesting idea about buying a kevlar disc separately. I never thought of that.

Re: Clutch help?
Could you post a link or 2 so I can see what you are talking about in terms of kevlar discs and from which companies?

If I were to find this clutch to go with an ACT 2600 would this suit my needs? Also, since Im putting a 6bolt engine into a 2g, that means I need a 1g clutch right? Will this fit into my 2g tranny?
