1998 ford expedition fuel pressure

my fuel pressure is 40psi and the book says thats what it should have but autozone says 80-100psi it backfires and is slugish after 45mph could this be the knock sensor causing all this trouble

Your specs are OK From the Ford Manual
Engine Running kPa (psi) 193-310 (28-45)
Key On Engine Off kPa (psi) 242-310 (35-45)
If your fuel filter is partially plugged, it can cause the problem. So can an engine misfire. You need to have a scan tool installed and read the PIDs before we guess away and cost you a lot of money.
