'99 Neon Highline Stereo Problem
I just bought a '99 Neon and am wanting to install a new head unit but cannot find a wiring kit for it in stock. Found one online but am really wanting to just skip it cause I have the time and patience to bypass the plug-ins so I can get it hooked up within a month.
So can anyone post or desribe a wire diagram for a '99 Neon stock stereo? If it's easier you could just tell me what colour each wire is. |

Re: '99 Neon Highline Stereo Problem
There are kits all over the place. Just go to your local audio store and buy one. It should be about $25 and makes installation so EASY!

Re: '99 Neon Highline Stereo Problem
I now have the kit but when I tried to put it in the stereo won't work, but the stock one still does. I have triple checked the wires so I assume the head unit is messed up, even though I got it from Walmart, brand new.
Any other possibilities? |

Re: '99 Neon Highline Stereo Problem
You might have the wires connected correctly, but are they making good contact?

Re: '99 Neon Highline Stereo Problem
Yep. Double checked, even rechecked my ground on my battery in case the old stereo was getting by with a bad ground because it's lower wattage....
