Alarm Sounding Randomly and Hood Open Indicator is on

Hey Guys,

I've been searching for a while now trying to find someone who has had this issue, but I have not yet found anything. The problem is, my alarm is going off almost all the time when the doors are locked. Also, the hood open indicator on the dash is on and/or flashing (seems to be when I am on the road hitting bumps that it flashes). I'm sure there is some simple fix, but I am not sure where to start looking. Any input would be appreciated.

Thanks,

Mark

Re: Alarm Sounding Randomly and Hood Open Indicator is on

I can only suggest this as a possibility since I have not run into this issue with VW. However, I did have a truck with an alarm that would randomly set off when the weather was cold. Tweaked the tension on the hood latch solved the problem. Believe the contraction and expansion /warm-cold temps made just enough difference for the hood sensor to gap. Just a suggestion... let us know if this works.

good luck
