95 PA ultra idler pulley replacement
hello. i need to replace the stationary idlers on my 95 Ultra (supercharged) and need to know if the retainer bolt is right or left hand thread. it does not want to go either way and would rather not break it off. thanks in advance, andy.

Re: 95 PA ultra idler pulley replacement
I like your bumps, and don't get impatient, most people here have full time jobs, family, and many extracurricular activities to take care of before sitting down to respond to AF questions!
IIRC, the dual idler bolt is a right hand thread. If the threads are corroded, you may have to work it out by turning the bolt 1/16 turn to the right & then to the left. (back & forth) Once it loosens enough to move in both directions, spray the threads with some PBBlaster & let it sit several hours before final removal

thanks hotZ. thought so but sometimes the engineers do odd things. yea, its pretty stuck, have already soaked it in deep creep. will put a little anti sieze upon assembly.
napa seems to be the only aftermarket parts store that sells the idler for the SC belt. does anyone know if these are decent quality? !! didn't intend to seem impatient, sorry if i came across that way. !! thanks, andy. |
