I have an 89 cherokee that all of a sudden started running and idling rough. I cleaned out the fuel tank and throttle body and hooked it to a Snap on scanner. I'm thinking it might be one of the sensors. I have located the TPS sensor just not sure what the sensor next to it is. I'm pretty sure that the TPS would cause this but is there something else that would? The year of my jeep with the tranny is working out to make this TPS sensor 150 bucks! I am not one to waste money if it is not the problem. I'm hoping someone would know some tricks that I could try first!
Thanks for your help! |

Re: Need some help!!!
Use a can of carburetor cleaner and spray around the edges of the intake and items bolted to the intake. If it smooths out fix the vacuum leak. Also check any hose with vacuum. If you have a vacuum canister pull the hose and install a plug if it fixes the problem get a rebuilt.
