3.0 Dohc to Ohv?

I was wondering if anyone here knew if there is a differance between the blocks from the dohc to the ohv versions of this engine. I have a 2000 taurus that I picked up cheap (Dohc) the head gaskets were blown and the engine has a severe knock. My buddy has a rolled 2000 taurus with a good Ohv engine in it that I could also pick up at a reasonable price. Is this swap possible? I am aware that I could change the computers and wiring. What I would like to know is possible to swap heads/intake...... THANKS in advance

completely different motors. you'd have to swap the engine as a whole, the duratec 3.0 is a far superior motor and can be picked up dirt cheap at a junkyard. I bought my 04 motor with 38k miles for 300 bux.
