95 Civic EX Muffler Question

I have a 1995 Honda Civic EX that desperately needs a muffler. I have checked with the auto part stores and they continue to mention that their muffler doesn't fit the 95 EX 4dr Sedan Japan Production model. I believe that mine is a Japan Production one as under the hood it says "Honda Motor Co. Made in Japan".

Is this right? However are there differences between the mufflers.

Thanks!

Re: 95 Civic EX Muffler Question

Also just checked my VIN, that designates it as a Japan built civic as well.

Re: 95 Civic EX Muffler Question

I'm no professional but did they show you a picture of it at all? Usually if it looks close like the hangers are in the right spots and the pipe goes the right way then it will fit. i used a thrush dynomax muffler that was made for a diff. car. i just cut the pipes and used the little extention things.. i do have a welding torch though.. but in your case i dont see there being any difference?
