02 SE spongy brake pedal??
My 02 non abs, rear drum brakes. Here's the the story, I had my wife take the car and get new tires put on. I had the rear brake shoes here waiting for me to find time to install, I thought since they are going to have the wheels off anyways, have them install the rearbrakes shoes. OK done deal, all they did was put the shoes on and the tires. Now my problem is I have a spongy pedal. I readjusted the rear brakes myself because the one side wasn't adjusted out properly. SO I think it's been awhile since I did the front pads, and the rotors are slighty warped. I replace all that.just got done replacing the front pads, and rotors. Still have a spongy pedal. The master cyliner seems to be fine since the pedal doesn't give any when apply the brakes. Don't have to pump the brakes before the grab good. I haven't bleed the lines yet. really wondering if that will help at all.
I'm looking for suggestions, |

Re: 02 SE spongy brake pedal??
yes bleeding the brakes will make all the difference. In fact i would just go ahead and flush the entire system and get all the old Brake fluid replaced. all that hard work you did, you may as well go the whole nine yards if you know what i mean. heres a good how to if you need be http://www.popularmechanics.com/auto...o/4213448.html
if you still have the spongy feeling after bleeding post back and we'll go from there |
