04 Impala HVAC Module
Has anyone opened up (if even able to) one of the dash mount HVAC control units on this vehicle? The blower switch (it is the switch, I'm certain) is completely erratic, and it exhibits all the traits of bad solder joints. Easy enough replacement, just time consuming, but if I can easily open it up and re-solder, so much the better.
Tks. |

Re: 04 Impala HVAC Module
I personally haven't opened one, but everyone who has says they are very delicate and easy to break, so go for it but be very careful.

Take your time, and be very fricken careful, I've never seen such Cheap PCB ever.... I burnt so many traces replacing the bulbs, with a low temp iron..

Re: 04 Impala HVAC Module
Right now I have two fan speeds, (in really cold weather I have more) so will wait for the weather to warm up a bit.
Thanks for the heads up on this, I'll give it a shot and see what happens! |

Re: 04 Impala HVAC Module
Jeeze only got rid of my car 3 months ago and I'm already forgetting stuff.
![]() I SHOULD mention..... if your loosing fan speed settings, (they don't do dick all when its on that setting) GOOD possibility its actually the Resistor thats Fubar, and thats in with the blower motor under the passenger side of the dash.
