Need help removing anti-theft system. I think its causing a short in the horn. The horn needs to work so that it can pass inspection. The problem started when the alarm went off in the middle of the nite for no reason. We had to disconnect the battery to disable it. If anyone has a FSM this would be extremely helpful as "haynes" just does not provide enough info.

When I worked at Hertz in the 80's we had several Ford model cars (Tempo & Topaz for two) where the horn button was actually on the Turn Signal stalk. Stupid yes, but it was factory.

First.. it's VERY possible both your horns are just plain dead, test them to be sure, and while your at it, test the voltage at the horn with someone pressing the button. I do have your 96 FSM for download (198mb zip), PM me. <edit> I sent you a PM ! PS: Alarm going off unexpectedly is 99% of the time attributed to the latch switches. First suspect is the hood switch (mine was cured here), then the side doors, and I've also heard one lever in the trunk pulldown assembly caused the problem.
