2006 z71 encoder motor issues
replaced transfer case encoder motor 2 mnths ago myself had chevy dealership progam aftermarket motor somtimes no lights at all on 4wh. dash display sometimes will not not go into into 4 wh.dr. sometime will. mechanic on duty at time replaced "control button cluster" on dash with one he had on his cart he said was good. have also changed all driveline fluids with rec. gm fluids unemployed!! no money for dealership. HELP!!

the encoder motor is what puts the vehicle in 4wd. exactly what happens when you command 4wd...? what does the dash switch lights do exactly ? If the encoder/4wd is defective you should have a service 4wd lt on/flashing , if so what are the failure codes ? you will need a GM specific drive train code reader .. The encoder does not require any programing, its just a motor.............. with these questions answered then the repairing can begin. |

Having same problem w/ my 06 Silverado.Mech scanner showed encoder motor & sensor I think.Any progress with yours?Looking for encoder motor in the morning.Hate to say it but I think I may have got a lemon.
Gone out so far:Evap solenoid-Replaced High speed fan out encoder motor bad Lights on radio prog buttons out Taillights malfunctioning |
