one more cf hood question
I've gone through all the forums with "carbon fiber" in the title and I've checked out the tutorial. My setting solution and my solvent solution just came in today so I will probably start my hood from my DC2 integra on thursday. One thing is bothering me though... the underside... Should I just paint it black and have the decal kinda wrap around the edges? Or should I cf the underside, let it dry, then cf the top and have it wrap around and HOPE it lines up with the pre existing decal? thanks for any help

Re: one more cf hood question
that is entirely up to you, I will say that most carbon hood that you see on street cars have a fiberglass under side that is gelcoat black kinda semi gloss, and only the top side is carbon. most really high quality hoods are full carbon but the support structure is made seperatly and bonded to the skin so if the weave patern didn't line up on your model it would not matter anyway.

Re: one more cf hood question
cfing both the top and bottom is a big task. If i was you i would paint it black and cf the top.
But if you want to do both cf the bottom first, and so with the top you can overlap the sides and won't really be noticed as much as if you overlaped the bottom on top. |

Re: one more cf hood question
alternatively you can cut out a section that's a mirror image of the top so that you end up wrapping the whole top and bottom with one piece, with either the front of side as your "bend". Then you're garuanteed to have one edge match.
