Re: 94 PA Check Engine Lights - Still

I don't know what codes are coming up. The mecanic that has been working on it said different codes come up. They now say it could be a hrmonic balancer. I was just hoping someone else had these problems and had found an answer.

I would not let them do anymore until you get the codes and post them here. Replacing harmonic balancer makes me believe they are just throwing parts at it. What kind of runability coditions do you have??

GO to autozone or any parts store that will read the codes for free. Get the actual code numbers and post and someone will help.

99% of the parts stores can't read a 1994-1995 GM C body....

Do you know anyone with a Scan Tool capeable of reading the Odd Ball 94-95 GM's? If you were close I'd read the codes for you...

Re: 94 PA Check Engine Lights - Still

I had it scanned at Aamco and they said it was a 1641 code, but that points towards a bad computer which I already had replaced.

Re: 94 PA Check Engine Lights - Still

There is no 1641 code for this PCM/EPROM

However, code 1640 is QDM( Quad Driver Module ) #1...

So what is happening is that the PCM is seeing a problem with an Item on quad Driver 1... You will have to figure out what the #1 Quad Driver controls and check those items..

Re: 94 PA Check Engine Lights - Still

Did you swap out the Eprom from the old computer to the new one?

That is the chip that goes onto the PCM (computer) that stores vehicle-specific information. You need to keep the one that was on your old computer by transferring it to the new computer. Or else you need to have your new PROM chip calibrated.
