smog pump etc.

my buddy has a 91 ford f250 with the 5 l engine that the pump is squeeling and the tubes at the rear of the engine that go to the rear of the heads and to the exhaust have rusted away . my question is since we are having trouble getting the new pipes etc, can the whole thing be taken off and if so what is the process and possible problems sam

Just spend $50 & some elbow grease at the boneyard! Deleating components is just asking for trouble.
