2003 SLE heated seat problem

Thought I would check with you guys before I tear into it. My 03
SLE drivers heated seat went out the other day. When first turned on, the ind. light comes on for 1 second & then shuts off. I also noticed the on/off switch is no longer illuminated. Passenger side appears to work OK. Any help on where to start would be greatly appreciated.

Re: 2003 SLE heated seat problem

The problem is with a wire burning out inside the seat... Some of the guys I deal with on another forum have taken the seat apart and pulled the seat skin and repaired the problem area/s to regain the heated seat function..

My next step was to hunt down the thermo switch/sensor but not sure where to look. I'll keep an eye out for anything burnt or broken.

Re: 2003 SLE heated seat problem

I just tried to fix mine to no avail, it is usually a wire in the ass part of the seat, you can pull the leather skin off and probably see a burn mark.I found the burn mark and tried to solder wire together but seat dont work still.Others have soldered it and it worked.
