Power loss, missing when cold

A few weeks ago, my 2000 Blazer began to miss a little while accelerating from a cold start. Sometimes it was extremely hard to start. It always straightened out after 2 or 3 miles and ran fine. Two days ago, while out of town, it suddenly wouldn't start. The fuel pump also wasn't priming. I had it fixed locally (paid a fortune) and took it home. It seemed to be running back to normal. It started quickly again, no skipping, no warm up time. Today on the way home I felt it miss a little in the same was it was before. Tomorrow I'm replacing the distributor cap.

When the truck died, I couldn't hear the fuel pump priming when keyed. Now that it is running again, apparently with a new OEM pump, I still don't hear it prime. Thoughts?

Get a volt meter and probe the connector on the pump, while an assistant turns key on and see if you have battery voltage. Also there should be a jumper on the driver side near the a.b.s unit or brake booster you can run a wire from Batt + to it and that should go straight to the pump.
