Possible tranny problem ?
The tranny has 182k on it that i know of, i bought my '98 durango 5.2 4x4 from a women 2 months ago, soo idk if its the original tranny or not. I heard from many people that the 44re's are weak tranny's.
Soo the tranny shifts pretty decent in all gears. The only real problem it has is when it's in 2nd gear under light load it kinda starts skipping or bucking, the rpm's will start jumping alittle bit, Soo could it be one of the band's ? |

Re: Possible tranny problem ?
what color is the atf. if it is rootbeer color the additive pack put in the atf+3 could be worn out, causing the shudder. this could be the original fluid? also the filter in the pan could be causing reduced fluid flow causing the shudder. why don't you try a trans service (atf+4,new filter and band adjustment) and see if the problem is cured?
