69 GT40 1/24th

The worst kit I’ve ever built courtesy of Le Mans miniatures; very crude, appalling quality, terrible fit and all of the white metal parts missing and apparently beyond the capabilities of LMM customer services to supply them.
Built with the aid of a Fujimi donor kit, after market products, numerous scratch built parts, lots of re-engineering and a bit of artistic licence.
Not a single part was good enough to use without lots of work and as a result, I’m disappointed and glad it’s over.
IT REALLY WAS THAT BAD!
I’m gonna go and lie in a darkened room now.

Cheers, Lee.

Thumbs up Re: 69 GT40 1/24th

Incredible. Please don't tell me it is not 1:1. Hard to belive the kit really sucks. Looks like a one million dollars kit.

Lee, you are certainly a better man than I. I can't believe the aggravation you went through, but the result sure looks nice. You deserve applause for beating it rather than letting it beat you. Now get yourself a nice, simple kit and take a break.

I think it looks great. Nothing to quibble about that I can see.

Re: 69 GT40 1/24th

I watched your build from the start. Very nice work. You took on more challenges than I did with the same kit and yours turned out better for it.

congrats
