1984 307cid

I just bought this 84 Olds 98 Regency Brougham it has a 307 that startes and Idles fine but when you pull it into gear it acts like it is starving for fuel and will die. what is up with this? What can be done to fix this?

Most likely cause is going to be in the choke system. Check the choke stat and pulloffs for proper operation and settings.
