Heat not working 98 intrigue

I have got some great advice on here before so I am going to try again. I have a 98 Intrigue and the heat is not working. I have checked the fuses they all look good. When I start the car it takes a couple seconds for the dual climate system to light up but its slow to do it. There is no heat or ac what so ever coming out. Its like its just dead. Before spending all kinds of money to fix it I was wondering if anyone could give me some ideas to help try and fix it bye myself. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
