Tire Size Options for 2002 Park Avenue?

I will soon need to get some new tires. The OEM size is 225/60/16. Does anyone know where I can find a chart of optional tire sizes for a 2002 PA? I am wondering if I could run a slightly narrower tire with a slightly higher profile # to get about the same height as the OEM. For instance, will a 205/65/16 work on a 2002 Park Avenue?

Found this optional tire size list for the '02 PA. Plus zero means the optional size is relatively close to the OEM height (less than 1 inch). Plus 1 is plus 1 inch, etc.

225/60 16 tires could be had for pretty good price, why would you want to go skinnier? a 2002 PA is a rather large car...

Personally I would want a 225 60 16 or 235 55 17

I am looking to gain somewhat better control in snow and mud with the narrower tire. I live out of town and the roads are not too good at times. It seems, the wider the tire, the more they float out in front. I believe 20 mm narrower would be about 3/4 of an inch or so narrower.

Re: Tire Size Options for 2002 Park Avenue?

I ended up ordering two P205/65-16 Yokahamas on-line. They arrived in 3 days and the shipping was free. I put them on yesterday. The PA has some real nice looking chrome rims on it. I was surprised to find quite a bit of corrosion where the rims meets the tire. I believe the rims are actually aluminum. I sanded the edges down and hit them with with some paint. Measured the tread and the new tires are about an inch narrower than the old Goodyear Assurance (look like an Aquatread) tires. We'll see how these Yokahamas do. They had good reviews. We received about 4-5 inches of snow today and I made it up to the road with no problems.
