Welcome to AF!

The fuel pump isn't supposed to come on when the key is in the accessory position. It comes on when the key is in the Run position. Check for pressure at the fuel rail. If it has none replace the fuel filter. You might double check the wiring for the fuel pump. It may have an open hot wire or a bad ground. Have you got a DVOM? Check for a hot wire going into the fuel pump. Have you checked the fuel injector fuse under the hood? If you have replaced the fuel pump and it 's not running in the ON positon of the ignition switch I suspect you need to double check the wiring going into the pump.

The fuel pump has a check valve that holds pressure in the system. When the pressure gets to 40-50 lbs the fuel pump shuts off. If you have a plugged fuel filter it may be holding enough pressure in the system to keep the fuel pump from running.

Spray some starting fluid into the intake housing. If the car runs after giving it a shot, then your problem is fuel starvation. If it won't run after you give it a shot then the most probable cause for it not to run is an ignition problem.

Hey there. A DVOM is a digial voltage ohm meter. It is commonly called a voltage tester. They're cheap a couple of bucks and are a "got to have" if you have electrical problems with your vehicle.

OhK I'll have to find a ride out and grab one, im not getting fire now, the pump is only on BC i ran a hot wire i mean the entire system basicly is down, so i mean im just lost at this point, once i get the DVOM mi should be able to trace down the issue right?

Get a Haynes manual at the parts place. It will have a schematic of the electrical system for your fuel pump. All the wires are color coded and you will be able to track down the problem starting at the fuse block and working your way back to the fuel pump. btw, with a jumper wire to the pump does it run all the time or does it shut off after pressure is built up? I'm thinking it would run all the time and that would be bad for you. The DVOM and the manual will pay for itself the first time you use it. You can check for hot wires using the volt meter and you can check continuity and grounds with the ohm meter.

Use the volts scale to check for hot wires and use the ohm scale to check for continuity and grounds. Get a Haynes manual at the parts place. It has electrical diagrams for all the systems in your car. You can start at the fuse box and work your way back to the unit that isn't working.
