Re: engine swap

IIRC you should be able to use the 96 PCM and get the 1996 SC wiring harness or simply use the stock harness and add the wires you need for SC control..

What exactly are your plans? are you going to use the 4T60E SC trans?

Re: engine swap

The 96 VIN K & VIN 1 PCM are the same, but the programming would be totally different. Your PCM would require a VIN-1 "flash" job! In addition, the 96 VIN-1 has a model specific fuel pump & speed control module similar to the blower fan module. It varies pump speed based on demand. You would need the pump, module & wiring harness for the pump. If you could find a complete 96 Vin-1 (SC) with the 4T50E-HD trans & wiring harness, you could use most of your existing accessories & mounts, so it would be much easier. Wiring harnesses changed from year to year as well as PCM pin-outs.

Re: engine swap

Welcome to AF!!

I respectively disagree with Jrs3800.

If you intend to do this swap you are going to need a wiring harness from the 01 along with a fuel pump from a supercharged car, the ecm and I would suggest an 01 trans to go along with preferably one from a supercharged car. You will also need the exhaust from the 3800 and I would also suggest a larger radiator. Motor and trans mounts will probably be needed too.

Re: engine swap

Just curious... Why 2001? Is this due to him getting a 2001 engine? and if he does get a 2001 4T65E he will need to make sure the Case has the bolt bosses for the rear mount...
