Help - Windows Keep Fogging In!
Hi All!
Newbie here with a Caravan 2000 issue. Since Thanksgiving, seems like our windows keep fogging in dramatically - specially if many in the car. Obviously, Chicago winter makes this worse - to the point that I need to kick in the defrost for a half a minute or so to defog the windshield so I can see. Then all ok for 5-7 minutes, when I need to switch the defrost ON to defog again. The air recirculation button is not on - but I suspect something must be stuck (an air duct flap or something) along the recirculation system since there's no fresh (dry) air coming in. Any clue what this can be? I am pretty handy so I could be able to fix the problem by myself. Any tip, VERY WELCOMED!! Thanks! gabstero |

Re: Help - Windows Keep Fogging In!
I've had this problem in many of my cars - they'll fog up a lot easier if the windows need to be cleaned - the small particles allow the quicker buildup of the water vapor.
So before you go diving under the dash, try a good window cleaner and you may see a difference.

Re: Help - Windows Keep Fogging In!
Thanks a lot!
That's an excellent quick tip! Will need to get to the heart of the issue though because I live in a sub-zero climate - Chicago. This insane winter makes things a mess - thanks!! Gabstero. |

Re: Help - Windows Keep Fogging In!
Your recirc door is definitly stuck in the recirc mode.100%. If you push the recirc button you should hear a noticable fan noise coming out, and if you shut it off, the noise will be much less.

Re: Help - Windows Keep Fogging In!
The recirc door is probably stuck, if you cannot tell a difference in fan noise between when it is in recirc mode or regular. The door on mine became stuck, giving me the same symptoms. I was able to loosen the actuator mounting screws under the dash, up against the firewall by the passenger's feet. Luckily just pulling on the actuator when it was slightly loosened freed the mechanism.
