Going to Italy, can I tour the factory?

Hi there,

I'm going to be traveling to Italy to meet my wife's family over the summer (have never been) and hope to get over to Maranello to see the Ferrari factory. But as one who is fairly ignorant to all the motoring history and opportunity there is in Italy, are there any specific tours for car fanatics? I know the history of racing and engineering is immense, and two of the world's most recognized supercar brands hail from Italy. It would be great if there was a way to package all of this up and see it on some kind of a tour...

Re: Going to Italy, can I tour the factory?

Hi,
There is a Ferrari Museum in Maranello, hometown of Ferrari cars. I am not sure about touring the plant alone but this can be organized for groups.
I think there is a company around Modena that could arrange that, but I forgot the name. Here is an example (I am not advertising it, I never ever worked with them, it is just the first result I got on Google)

Also, remember that you are entering the center of the supercar world ;-)
Near Maranello, you have Maserati in Modena, Lamborghini in Sant'Agata, Zonda in the area, De Tomaso was there too, and near Bologna you have Ducati for motorbike...

And then, the food is delicious in this area to top it all.

Have fun,
See you soon,
Thom.

Hi,
Just 3 pics from around the factory. I did not visit it yet, but I'll have to do this one day...

Re: Going to Italy, can I tour the factory?

hey! I grew up in Italy, and I have never visited the museum! I went to ferrari's official site http://www.ferrari.com/Italian/About...erritorio.aspx
and here are the prices:

Biglietto intero adulti13,00 Euro (adults)
Biglietto ridotto studenti, over65 11,00 Euro (students, and over65)
Biglietto ridotto bambini 6-10 anni, accompagnatori disabili, militari 9,00 Euro (kids, people who are taking disabled people, and military)
Speciale prezzo famiglia: 9 Euro a persona (genitori con figli paganti) (family price)

also, depending on when you go, the site says they are going to add a "service" which would be ISTA DI FIORANO E VIALE ENZO FERRARI, if you buy extra tickets. The site says this is in the factory. This will be starting the 16 of July. But it says they will not sell "extra" tickets once the ones they have are sold out, so you would have to buy them as early as possible.

good luck!
and make sure to try my favorite spaghetti : "pasta alla carbonara!"

Hello,
Near the plant, you can also find the Scuderia Ferrari building, the race team head office. There are some pics at the link below. It is not so far from the museum too:

See you,
