95 safari problems

I have a 95 sarari 4.3L W cmfi
Started to run rough, and black exhaust, so i thought i would try to fix myself.
I have changed Oxy sencer,Map sencer,EGR valve,air cleaner,pcv,
plugs,wires,distributer cap,rotor,and coil.

When i changed plugs, all on drivers side 1-3-5 were light brown ash color.
On the pass side 2-4-6 were all dry black soot .
Still runs badly, black exhaust ,and also can smell gas.

I was told it may be the spider injector.

What i can't understand is why all plugs on drivers side are good ,and all on pass side are dry black soot ?
I am going to take a compression on all cyl today, and will post back.

Re: 95 safari problems

The left bank plugs are burning fine indicating the fuel pressure and return lines are not leaking. The passenger side all soot, most likely VERY noticeable on #3 plug, indicates the fuel pressure regulator is leaking.

Dorman, (part #55163) makes a replacement "nut kit" available at most auto parts stores. The fuel pressure regulator is also available at most auto parts stores. The entire spider assembly should come with everything. Make sure it has the pressure and return lines, if not, do yourself a favor and replace them too.
