Steering Play
Hello I have a 03 s-10 4wd. The truck has new ball joints but there is play in the wheel. I jacked the front end up and the tie rod ends that connect the the wheels are all tight. When i shifted the wheel the upper center connecting rod seemed to move. Any suggestions on where to start and the level of difficulty in repairing appropriate areas. I am very handy and have done several things on cars, just never this! Any help will be much appreciated.

Re: Steering Play
Upper control arm moving?
At spindle or where it connects to frame? Was upper ball joints replaces and installed tight?

Re: Steering Play
Im not sure whats moving here. With vehicle off the ground grab passenger side tire at 9 and 3 o'clock and try and rock it front to back. If theres alot of play there check the idler arm. I have had some experience with these if its bad don't buy a duralast one there very loose brand new. I've used Moog and seems to still be tight. If you jack the vehicle up from the control arm if you grab top of the tire and pull in and out (gotta use a little strength) if it moves or pops upper ball joints bad or were not torqued down.
