Will 98 Rodeo engine work in 00 Passport???
I have a 2000 Passport (10th vin digit is "Y") and the motor has a nice loud knock to it. I have had afun time locating a motor for it and have came across a 1998 Rodeo.
I know there will be some swapping of parts, but just wanted to check if there were any major differences that would keep this swap from happening? |

I'm pretty sure it is just some parts that need to be swapped from your current engine for this to work.

Re: Will 98 Rodeo engine work in 00 Passport???
my 98 has a similar problem with the engine noise, it had a load knocking sound since the day i bought it about two years ago 145k, i have done about 25000k since then without any performance issues, it just annoying tried various solutions and types of oil but no luck.
most techs i have shown it to have said the problem is somewhere at the bottom of the engine, maybe a sticky valve but then they all quote a few $100's to investigate further. i have read that this is a common problem on the 98 LS, has anyone experienced this and fixed it? |
