HELP !! Can't get my Tranny out

I have a 95 Jimmy with the 4L60E, I have pretty much everything disconnected and the Tranny on a Jack, BUT..... I cannot get at the TOP 2 BOLTS !!! I can barely put a finger on either.. There just is NO room!! Am I missing some sort of trick?? The exaust bolts breaking no matter how I tried to be careful were bad enough, but this.. I have tried to come in from the top, I have removed the Heater hoses,, distributer cap. Nothing works. There is a Big Black ( 2" ) Heat proof type of hose thing running between the Firewall and engine long the top that I cannot even budge.. I am trying this repair myself because I just do not have the extra green and this is my everyday ride.. A little advice would be greatly appreciated.. Thanks..

Not completely sure about your truck but on others, I use a 36 inch long extension that fit a standard 1/2 inch square drive. I put the appropriate socket on the end (sometimes with a swivel joint if needed) then slide it in, beside the transmission and the truck body.
I then can place the socket on the last 2 bolts and spin them off.

It looks like these:

Thanks for the response. I do not believe that there is enough room for a swivel, but like I said, I cannot see anything to put a socket on..

Remove rear cross member and drop transmission down as much as it will go down.

And as said get long extension and swivel sockets.

Also a lot of then have a nut on back of transmission bolt that holds on lines and brackets.

Remove it and then move brackets over to side and then remove the transmission to engine bolts.

Also best to remove top bolts first.
Then.
Have jack under transmission before removing lower /all transmission to engine mounting bolts.

Re: HELP !! Can't get my Tranny out

I just did this a few months back, I used a 3/8 36" extension with a swivel and short 6 point socket. It was easy to break loose this way.
