07R – Interim Colours

I posted here – ages ago! – several photos of 07R in it’s
Silver/Papaya duo-colour scheme, taken at Knockhill Circuit, Scotland
circa August 1998, just after Larry Kinch bought it from ‘someone
named’ Paul Picard(?) in France – or it could have been, thinking
about it – from Paul Ricard (circuit) in France One passing comment
from Larry on the ‘phone, 12 years back, is a bit of a dim and distant
memory, after all!

Does anyone have validation of the previous owners of 07R prior to
Larry? Also, are there any other photos of the car in it’s
Silver/Papaya colours, prior to it’s dispatch for a Papaya paint job
at Woking?

MdS.

Re: 07R – Interim Colours

I think most, if not all, of my shots in my folder came from you - I'll host what I've got (I think 1 or 2 may have crept in that are actually #01R...)

Re: 07R – Interim Colours

They were, for me, the benchmark set of photos that A) made me like the Mclaren GTR and B) made me want to photo them

Re: 07R – Interim Colours

I'll try and mail my former model maker in Scotland, Mark and see if he still has any photos he took of the car that day too, as he was commissioned to convert a 1.43rd Minichamps GTR to the Larry-spec car. If I get a result, I'll host and post.

Re: 07R – Interim Colours

When I was conversing with Flemke over the colouring of his F1, around the time the videos of #040 and #13R were being driven near Virginia Waters, I commented which F1 GTR he would like. I can't remember his answer, but I can remember I replied stating were I in that position I wanted #07R if #01R wasnt available

EDIT - and it was the first 1/43 I bought too

Re: 07R – Interim Colours

Yep, the Jacadi from 1995 Le Mans 1/43 is one of my targets on the future.... Great livery.

Re: 07R – Interim Colours

Interesting thread

It is stated the car was delivered in France in Giroix team I supposed. What about Paul Ricard name in this story ?
Larry Kinch made the conversion, right ? Lanzante or factory in 2000/2001 ?

Where is #07R now ?

Phil
