And the lights went out....

Howdy,
I have a 91 Full size Blazer, the other morning while driveing to work, first the dashlights went out.... Then the headlights went out. I assumed it was a bad HL switch.. It was not, found a blown fuse for the dashlights so those work. I just can't figure out why the headlights wont work. Checked the fuses, all are OK now.... any ideas what to look for.. Hope you guys can help............... thanks

Update......
Un fricken believable.... I pulled the headlights on wanting to check the high beam indicator, low and behold the lights come on and all seems to be well. I feel like such a dumbass......... such is life....

your vehicle has a common problem with those headlights..the pins on the rectanglar lamps are of such poor quaility that the get corroded fast...also those fingers are very thin...with a good cleaning, wire brush,,,coat these metal contacts with dieletric grease...this should keep this good for a time...you may notice that these headlights are brighter as well now..

if you replaced these lamps with the higher output type they fail after only 2 years more wattage means shorter life...
