What about a aftermarket O2/HO2 sensors!
Heated O2 sensors (H20) = 3-wire, and 4-wire types.
Unheated O2 sensors (02) = 1-wire, and 2-wire types. It's really worth the cost savings to save your old connectors during replacement. We only replace the upstream sensor's, they are used for the Air/fuel mix, the down stream are only replaced when they are hard at fault. Last edited by danielsatur; 01-29-2010 at 09:49 PM. |

Re: What about a aftermarket O2/HO2 sensors!
One advantage is keeping the OEM connectors would probably be a more reliable connection versus the crimped-on universal type.
Second, it is literally plug & play...no farting around with which wire is which. If it is just a 1-wire, then I see little to no advantage here. Finally, I would think that a sensor that has the correct connector has been at least thought about by the mfr and specified for use in that vehicle or vehicle brand. Universals are just that...cranked out at the factory and thrown in a box. Food for thought....

Re: What about a aftermarket O2/HO2 sensors!
i had success w/ both styles...
some aftermarkets do come w/ the OEM connectors if you're good at soldering/heatshrinking, the "universals" worked ok as well... just compare the prices... i won't go to a no-name aftermarket brand though |

Down stream O2 simulators can be found @ www.o2simulator.com , www.bigdaddiesgarage.com ,or Ads by Google @ the bottom of post.
We have seen alot of people blow $200 for O2 sensors, that didn't need replaced. |
