Need to know year/engine (probably, I only know about the ecotec, but I doubt they're all the same)... if it's got the ecotec, easier to pull the trans. You can do it really easy by modifying the left front "ear" of the engine cradle, just cut it off about 1/4" in front of the bolt for the bar that goes to the lower radiator support, and the tranny slides out really easy. Get under there and take a look, it's obvious once you do. You could also search for pics on j-body.org, "DaFlyinSkwirl" made a post about it. Otherwise you have to remove the engine cradle bolts and hope that none of the threads pull out when you do... then of course you may have to have it aligned too. I did that on mine, about 2 hours to remove the trans using a hoist and all the right tools... plus a helper to get it out of the car. (Maybe 2 or 3 helpers doing it on the ground) I was able to lift/carry it to/from the work bench by myself, but DO NOT try to remove/install without at least one helper.
